North Florida Regional Healthcare is an organization centered around the community hospitals in Gainesville, Florida -- North Florida Regional Medical Center (NFRMC). NFRMC is a 432-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving North Central Florida and offering comprehensive cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences, minimally-invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, weight loss surgery and treatment, women's health and wound therapy, among other services.
The Simulation Lab Coordinator directs the Graduate Medical Education (GME) administrative activities for simulation lab and functions as a member of the educational services team. These services are provided in conjunction with the program directors in the GME office as well as the Director of Graduate Medical Education. This position will provide oversight and facilitate collaboration among health science programs to optimize technology usage in the lab for training benefit.
General administrative services including scheduling, data entry, inventory, maintenance logs, filing (electronic/hard copy) and other duties as assigned and requested by the Director of Graduate Medical Education.
Responsible for all set-up , breakdown and clean up for all simulation activities
Prepare and operate high fidelity patient simulators, task trainers, AV system and other equipment used for simulation and procedural skills training.
Collaborates and assist faculty with simulated clinical encounters and debriefing sessions.
Assist faculty to plan, prepare, implement and evaluate simulation events using evidence based practice
Assist faculty with all courses under the GME Simulation Lab to include but not limited to AHA ACLS,BLS,PALS
Collaborate with GME coordinators in all aspects of planning and preparation per program and interprofessional events
Assists faculty with coordinating in situ simulation (external use) with equipment, supplies and course material as needed.
Collaborate with outside entities to grow the offerings of the program
Coordinate preventive maintenance of patient simulators, task trainers and equipment used in the simulation lab
Conduct routine maintenance on all simulation equipment, supplies and AV systems.
Responsible for maintaining and reordering simulation supplies
Provide advanced troubleshooting for patient simulators, task trainers and AV system
Conduct training sessions for simulation users in simulation activities, use of equipment and debriefing model
Assist with maintaining and updating simulation course curriculum to include simulation cases and skills training
Performs other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
Previous administrative and project management experience. Prefer experience with coordinating simulation lab for a teaching hospital or university. In addition, prefer experience in course development and education methodology, simulation methodology and familiar with various simulation modalities
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); excellent organization skills; attention to details; ability to work with computers on common office software and web based interface; ability to learn electronic data entry and evaluation systems. Willingness to learn simulation equipment, maintenance, and upkeep.
EMT, Registered Nurse or other Allied Health licensure, ACLS Provider (preferred), BLS Provider (preferred), ACLS/BLS Instructor (preferred), Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator/Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists (preferred).
