Job Summary:
Operates a variety of heavy equipment, vehicles, and tooling used in construction and/or plant production activities.
Main Responsibilities:
Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly
Operate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and other mobile equipment used in completion of construction projects and/or in support of production operations
Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks
Perform minor equipment maintenance tasks, including but not limited to as greasing and checking oil and fluids
Drive company vehicles to worksites and company locations when authorized
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid drivers' license (ability to maintain a clean driving history required)
Skills:
Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in operation of heavy equipment operation preferred
Ability to work with others in a professional manner
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and problem-solve
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Physical Requirements:
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods
Frequent exposure to loud noise
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
