Job Summary:
Responsible for operation of an aggregate plant/crusher; also supports plant production operations by performing physical work required to maintain consistent operation of plants/equipment; may also operate a variety of equipment, vehicles, and tooling.
Main Responsibilities:
Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly
Ensure safe operation of plant and components; monitor plant output and make necessary adjustments in order to meet required production mix, quantities, and deadlines
Adjust manual and computer-aided controls to maintain equipment within required operating ranges
Provide guidance to plant ground crew and equipment operators related to daily operations of plant
Maintain daily production logs and assist with production and operational reports
Communicate professionally with others in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels
Operate heavy and industrial equipment, vehicles, and tools as needed in support of operations
Perform manual/physical tasks required in plant operation and maintenance activities
Monitor plant performance and identify operational and/or mechanical issues; report issues and coordinate with management regarding required repair/maintenance to minimize plant downtime
Assist with minor equipment maintenance and repair, and general plant housekeeping tasks
Complete other related projects/tasks as assigned
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
MSHA certification or ability to acquire certification required
Valid drivers' license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
Skills:
5 or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of training/experience in a similar role
Mechanical skill and experience plant equipment maintenance; basic welding experience a plus
Proficiency in operation of plant equipment; demonstrated knowledge of plant parts and components
Proficiency with mobile devices and other technology used in daily operations
Ability to read and interpret signage and/or written instructions (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.)
Ability to problem-solve and recommend solutions
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to interact professionally with others and clearly communicate information
Physical Requirements:
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle, and manipulate objects
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Regularly required to read and understand signage, labels, and written instructions
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly required to stand/work on feet for long periods, and walk across uneven terrain
Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock
Mining environment; regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, airborne particles, fuel/chemicals, loud noise, moving equipment/parts, and vibration
