SciTec has immediate opportunities in Los Angeles, CA for talented algorithm developers and engineers to support programs focusing on image/signal processing, Bayesian statistics, data fusion, machine learning, and tracking filters for exploitation of data from remote sensing systems (ground-based, airborne and space-based).

The SciTec Los Angeles office is a remote work location, providing direct customer and subcontractor support to contracts managed from our Boulder and Princeton offices. Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and to collaborate and communicate effectively with remote team members.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Researching new data processing algorithms and analysis techniques for remote sensor data exploitation
  • Developing proof-of-concept data exploitation tools in languages such as MATLAB or Python
  • Testing, validating, tuning, and documenting analysis tools and algorithms
  • Characterizing quality/performance of algorithms and sensor systems
  • Developing and advancing scene modeling and simulation tools for training algorithms on future imaging platforms under development
  • Supporting code transition to real-time automated implementations
  • Perform other duties as required


The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:

  • Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Candidate must posses demonstrated proficiency, either through coursework or work experience, with python or MATLAB
  • Candidate must posses demonstrated proficiency, either through coursework or work experience, with signal processing, statistics, or machine learning
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a distributed team
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and keep a TOP SECRET//SCI DoD security clearance
  • Candidate must be able to operate a PC
  • Candidate must be able to view and interpret displayed images and video
Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred:
  • Advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Experience with exploitation of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Mulit-/Hyper-spectral Imagery (MSI/HSI), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), or Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) data.
  • Advanced experience with machine learning, image processing, and/or filtering algorithms and their application to data extraction and classification
  • Experience with scene modeling and simulation
  • Current DoD security clearance

Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced, Signal Processing Engineer to join our Boeing's Ground Development and Mission Operations division located in El Segundo, CA. Boeing's Ground Development and Mission Operations division is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to support a digital signal processing development effort. This development will be integrated into an existing architecture and will require experienced and careful system engineering best practices to successfully implement. The individual will be required to work closely with a team of engineers to make the appropriate system modifications while verifying that the current architecture is not impacted. As the Digital Signal Processing System Enhancement engineer, work with and support a team of engineers with diverse backgrounds and skill levels developing key ground technology solutions for customer needs. Utilize a variety of processing mechanisms such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays, (FPGA), General Purpose Processors (GPP), and Graphic Processor Units (GPU) to successfully integrate new digital signal processing techniques into the current architecture. Employ network engineering and the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) layers to model and aid in the implementation of the system. Utilize system engineering methods and standards such as traceability, system verification, system validation, baseline descriptions, configuration management and change control to develop first time quality system that is operable and maintainable. Establish and maintain customer relationships as well as partnerships with stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Position Responsibilities * Deliver first time quality ground product working in an Agile environment that assures customer needs are satisfied, manage progress and issue resolution * Support full system engineering life cycle of digital signal processing system * Ensure successful integration of digital signal processing system by testing and verifying all program user's satisfaction * Provide technical oversight and expertise in the design, development, test, implementation, and operation of the digital signal processing system This position requires an active Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) US Citizenship Required Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) * Successfully completed a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years. * Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
