Sign Maker (Full Time)

The Sign Maker designs, fabricates, paints, repairs, and replaces signs throughout the resort.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Arrange for pick up or delivery of completed signs. Install signs based on the signage request.

• Check spelling and accuracy of sign information.

• Lay out letters and symbols in a clear and graphically pleasing way.

• Measure, cut, and finish wood used to make signs.

• Maintain equipment including repair sign equipment. Clean heads, nozzles; lube and change blades.

• Maintain a presentable appearance and courteous manner, projecting a positive attitude.

• Maintain good housekeeping standards. Sweep signage shop, keep area free of trip hazards, keep paint cans covered when not in use.

• Keep signage materials organized and accessible.

• Work with requesting party to determine appropriate size, color, layout, format and message.

• Complete signage request accurately within deadlines set by operations management. Prioritize projects appropriately.

• Lay out signage format on the computer utilizing various signage programs.

• Cut wood boards on routing table. Mask prep and paint if using wood.

• Use printer and/or vinyl cutter to cut message, apply to appropriate substrate.

• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of and ability to provide signage made of wood, vinyl, PVC, metal.

• Ability to spell, take accurate messages and word signs clearly.

• Ability to use wood working equipment.

• Two years sign-making experience required.

• Valid California's driver's license with no more than 2 points.

• Accurate invoicing for monthly billing to requesting departments.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
