Job Description Responsible for all aspects of the SiC polishing cell. Activities include documentation, operation and maintenance of the Double Planetary machines.
Perform in-process and final inspection and metrology of production parts along with data and report preparation for internal and external customer evaluation. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Ensure all customer requirements are met utilizing sales order information, which may include customer-supplied drawings, Coherent supplied drawings, any special instructions, or Coherent standard specifications. Receiving/shipping/handling of SiC parts are manufactured in a safe manner and associated paperwork processed as required.
Ability to assess and resolve routine issues associated with day-to-day operations. Ability to multitask and self-manage as different priorities arise. Education & Experience High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
At least two (2) years work experience in a high-tech manufacturing, laboratory, or similar environment. Skills & Other Requirements Good written and verbal communication skills. Microsoft Windows and Office with emphasis on editing and filling out spreadsheets.
Document incoming and finished part specifications. Calculate and record CTQ dimensions. Ability to operate inspection equipment in a lab setting.
Communicate/coordinate with Engineering on tooling needs, machine troubleshooting. Must be able to multi-task and be able to run machines while documenting and inspecting parts. Working Conditions Laboratory conditions; exposure to noise, solvents, and acid on a daily basis.
Daily contact with peers, supervisor, engineering, and other departments. Physical Requirements 50% normal and 50% concentrated mental attention. High mental and visual concentration needed during all other phases of job duties.
At a minimum: Standing (4 hours per day) Sitting (4 hours per day) Lifting (< 50 lbs.) Pushing/Pulling (< 25 lbs.) Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate EHS standards. Quality and Environmental Responsibilities Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
