Shuttle Driver (Temporary/As Needed) - 472023


This position drives a University shuttle or van to transport University of Richmond faculty, staff or students to assigned locations in the City of Richmond or other areas in Richmond or DC area.


  • Able to drive a 12 passenger van and a 12 passenger shuttle

  • Able to give feedback on shuttle/transport issues

  • Able to communicate with faculty, staff and students

  • Able to write clear and coherent reports


  • Able to become an approved University driver

  • Have a flexible schedule

  • Able to be available for on call transport

  • Knowledge of the Richmond area, highways and roads

  • Knowledge of vehicle and driver safety

  • Required: Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standing


  • 3 years of driving van/shuttle


  • Temporary, non-exempt position that works as needed; less than 1,000 hours per year

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 The Automotive Service Porter - Shuttle Driver works alongside the Service Advisers and Service Managers to help move customer vehicles from the welcome area to the technician bays. In addition, he or she provides shuttle service for customers needing transportation to and from work or home. The Porter - Shuttle Driver performs routine vehicle maintenance and maintains the cleanliness of the shuttle vans. Most importantly and without exception, he or she operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, and can drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles. He or she must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance, such as checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks (visual inspection of wipers, tires, etc.), and maintaining the vehicle in a clean condition (interior and exterior). Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES * Transports customers in assigned vehicles within the local area * Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures * Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and performs routine maintenance tasks * Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road * Completes any reports or logs * Moves customer vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order * Washes customer cars after service/repairs are complete QUALIFICATIONS * Must be at least 18 years old. * High school diploma or GED preferred. * Previous experience preferred * Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record. * Can drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles. * Neat, clean, professional appearance * Excellent customer service focus * Impressive work ethic * Excellent communication skills, verbal and written BENEFITS * 401(k) Plan - eligible the 1st quarter after 1 year of employment * Whole Life Insurance * Holiday Pay Haley Auto Group Richmond VA
