General Purpose:

Under general direction, this position provides strategic consultation to define or design technology processes, functions, and systems to internal departments as well as external partnerships

Essential Duties:

  • Provide strategic consultation to define or design technology processes, functions and systems. Research, identify and internally market enabling technologies based on customer requirements.

  • Technical liaison (account manager) between Sparrow's customers and the technical infrastructure team. Ensuring proper subject matter experts are engaged to provide issue resolution. This role has a strong emphasis on Sparrow's affiliates and external customers leveraging Sparrow's Community Connect EMR offering.

  • Leads issue root cause analysis discussions to identify and adapt department policies to prevent future re-occurrence. Assists Problem Management & Incident Management in resolution of high priority issues.

  • Serves as a Sparrow technical leader at customer meetings providing insight and guidance.

  • Serve as liaison between Sparrow IT subject matter experts and internal/external customers. Guide customers to solutions that meet Sparrow's architectural and security requirements.

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts. Clear leadership and understanding of market trends in consumer technologies and others that impact patient, provider and patient families.

  • Collaborates and actively engages with Sparrow IT, hospital leaders, and patient experience staff to drive technology based strategies to improve patient experience. Measure, monitor and assess the outcomes of all initiatives. Collaborate with Sparrow leaders to achieve goals exceeding national benchmarks.

  • Creates, maintains and promotes the Business Service Catalog. Assists in the development, monitoring, and management of Service Level Agreements.

  • Performs all duties of the equivalent department intermediate level.

  • Act as Team Lead in absence of department Manager.

  • Owns and manages knowledgebase and departmental tools. Ensures tools are maintained and up to date.

Job Requirements

General Requirements None Work Experience General knowledge and understanding of these technologies: NetworkFirewalls, Load Balancers (F5), Cabling Compute PlatformsVMware, x86 servers Operating SystemsWindows, Mobile (iOS, Android) StorageNetApp (NAS), Hitachi Data Systems (SAN) DatabasesOracle, MS SQL Five, or more, years of experience working on large computer technology projects.

Three, or more, years leading and coordinating resources within a hospital setting. Strong understanding of ITIL and IT Best Practices Education BS degree in Computer Science or related field Specialized Knowledge and Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Effective group facilitation and negotiation skills; guide teams in making decisions by consensus.

Experience with ITIL methodology. Excellent project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work extended hours on short notice. Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies. Broad experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access Key business activities which rely on automation preferred IT services and how they are provided preferred Best Customer Service practices and the measurement (metrics) of those practices preferred General office practices and procedures preferred
