Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

The Compensation Analyst Intermediate is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of compensation processes, programs and policies to ensure competitive compensation practices across the organization. Primary responsibilities include analyzing compensation data, performing job analyses, editing job descriptions, and consulting with internal departments and HR colleagues as it relates to specific jobs, organizational structure, market pricing reviews, and pay decisions. Participates in annual compensation related projects, such as merit and bonus administration, salary structure design, and salary survey participation. In addition, the Compensation Analyst Intermediate assists with other compensation projects or HR initiatives as required.    

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Consults with Leadership and HR Partners to evaluate jobs, departmental structure, and compensation levels.

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies and processes.

  • Creates, edits, and approves job descriptions ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Conducts job evaluation and market analysis to determine salary grade levels, market value of roles, and exemption status.

  • Analyzes data, formulates assumptions and presents findings to Leadership with pay recommendations.

  • Develops and presents technical reports and summaries utilizing Excel and data-related tools.

  • Provides advice and assistance to Leadership and HR Partners regarding the FLSA (e.g. wage and hour guidelines, exemption guidelines, etc.) and other applicable laws/regulations.

  • Develops and participates in the preparation of compensation guidelines and training materials.

  • Assists in managing large scale initiatives through project planning activities.

  • Mentors less experienced Caregivers.

Job Requirements

General Requirements • CCP or other compensation certification - preferred Work Experience • Minimum of three years of compensation experience • Previous healthcare experience - preferred Education • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Strong analytical aptitude, with the ability to organize and analyze data, interpret results, formulate conclusions and provide strong consulting as it relates to compensation decisions. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate, influence and negotiate. • Expert knowledge of human resources and compensation practices, with strong knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other HR-related laws. • Ability to develop and implement compensation processes and programs. • Strong technical skills, with the ability to manipulate, organize and validate data in spreadsheets, utilizing various formulas and functions in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, etc.). • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay complex information in an understandable manner for Caregivers and Leadership. • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization and problem solving skills; must be results oriented. • Expertise in reviewing and analyzing market data and presenting pay recommendations. • Ability to mentor and assist in training less experienced Caregivers. • Must present a positive attitude, with the ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
