We are currently hiring a Shopper Insights Lead in Boston, MA.
The Shopper Insights Lead will be a key support role to the Senior Manager providing a foundational understanding of shopper behavior/trends to brand, commercialization, sales and category management departments. They will deliver actionable shopper insights to help BBC understand the causals for shopper behavior and how the insights can impact sales of Boston Beer Company products. The insights provided will include macro and micro trends with a shopper lens and how those trends relate to classes of trade, retailers, categories, segments, brands and items. The role will be responsible for embedding shopper insights into brand plans, sales execution, and external customers (retailers & distributors).
Support the Sr Manager as the 'voice of the shopper' understanding and providing shopper insights throughout the Path to Purchase.
Influence and drive business results by analyzing, interpreting, and communicating key shopper insights from available data sources.
Manage data sets to synthesize and commercialize key shopper insights across functional teams.
Link the understanding of category shopper behavior and the implications to brand and retailer strategies.
Coordinate key shopper insights across other BBC analytical teams to include consumer research and sales/brand business analysis teams.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift a case of beer.
Working conditions: Ability to travel 10-20%
Required: Bachelors degree
Desired: Masters Degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Category Manager and/or Shopper Insights role
Hands on experience with a full range of syndicated and custom research sources (Household Panel, Spectra, shopper studies, Numerator)
Demonstrated success working directly with retailers and distributors
Strong analytical and technical skills
Ability to work with and connect multiple data sources to drive concise and actionable insights
Effective storytelling and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Understanding of brand development/planning and implications to retailer selling teams
Must be able to work constructively in a team environment
Beer/Alcohol industry knowledge
Understanding of the sales process, distributor network, and retail landscape
Knowledge of existing and emerging data/research suppliers
