The Shop Technician acts as support to the shop employees and Machine Maintenance Group in the areas of recycling, running errands, general building maintenance, service and maintenance of machines, inventory, and chip and oil handling.
Areas or Responsibility
Manages the weekly rotation and handling of chip barrels
Organizes barrels of waste oil, used litter and used filters, and arrange with supervisor for recycling
General upkeep of work areas as needed
Manages oil spills and spill control booms
General service and machine maintenance: including cleaning machines, checking filters, oiling, coolant, and sump pumps, inspections of machines
It is the responsibility of the Shop Technician to do whatever needs to be done to assist in the process of getting parts out the door and facilitate better flow of work in the shop in general.
Education, Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
1 - 2 years experience in a shop environment desired
Able to perform general maintenance tasks
Valid NH driver's license, forklift certifiable
Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner; and request assistance when warranted.
Must be able to climb in and out of small places; crawl around machinery.
Must have range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, walking, standing, stooping, and crouching for extended periods of time while performing duties.
Any offers of employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory results of a drug and alcohol screening test arranged by TURBOCAM. The cost of the screening is covered by TURBOCAM.
