This position is responsible for performing inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment, Compact Construction equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team or take a lead to provide advanced mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieves company goals.
Performs advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures
Assists in the rebuilding, repairing and maintaining of equipment and components and is able to lead in projects.
Capable of planning equipment and component repairs to meet customer needs and company goals
Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management.
Maintains all equipment and work areas keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner.
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
Performs other duties as assigned.
Mentors and help train other technicians.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic system.
Quality control analysis skills-Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance and communicate findings.
Operation and control skills-Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Equipment selection skills-Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane-safely.
The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair.
The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
The ability to read, write and understand information.
The ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Education and Experience:
3 or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
