Shop Mechanic - Q3 Contracting, Gas Operations

Q3 Contracting, (Q3C) a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a full-service construction provider operating in Natural Gas Distribution & High Pressure Construction, Gas Distribution Design, HDD, Hard & Soft Surface Restoration, Traffic Control, and other specialty services. Branch offices are also located in Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

Q3 Contracting is seeking a Shop Mechanic for Commerce City, Colorado location.

Entry-level Apprentice Mechanic with a strong drive to learn and proficient mechanical abilities. Skilled in repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment including engines, motors, light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as off-road equipment, trailers, generators, and compressors. Responsibilities include performing repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

• Repairs or replaces defective parts.

• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

• Lubricates and cleans parts.

• Starts devices to test their performance. Looks for maintenance issues that may need repairs.

• Performs preventive maintenance, operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

• Repair light electrical on equipment.

• Looks for maintenance issues needing repairs.

• Performs miscellaneous welding, cutting and fabrication as needed, is not required.

• Able to properly use diagnostic equipment.

Educational & Minimum Requirements:

• High School/GED or 5 years of mechanical experience
• A Valid Drivers License is required. (Valid CDL class A- Preferred)
• Additional licenses and certificates such as Forklift Operators License, Department of Transportation Inspectors License, Air Conditioning Repair License, and Freon Recovery Certificates are - Highly Preferred.

Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00/ hour- (Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience.)
