McCarthy Building Companies is looking for a Shop Hand Helper for our Channelview, TX location.  In this role, you will support our yard on day-to-day operations, assist our shop mechanic and run parts for projects and yard.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively participate in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) meetings

• Clean up work areas

• Perform general labor

• Assist yard staff and perform other work-related tasks as assigned

• Handle various types of materials

• Move parts within the yard

• Parts running for projects and yard

• Assisting shop mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS

• Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools

• Proven commitment to Safety

• Work in an organized manner

• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions

• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others

• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds

• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces

• Minimum age 18+

• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
