Description

Midwest Valve Services, a Novaspect Holdings Company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Shop General Manager to join our fast paced, customer-oriented team. The successful candidate will exemplify and promote Novaspect Identity throughout the repair team while overseeing and managing the Supervisors who oversee the repair teams. The Shop General Manager must ensure proper execution and adherence to all company repair procedures, safety policies and the Quality Assurance (QA) manual. Additionally, the General Manager role maintains high standards and productivity of all jobs while providing customer satisfaction and company profitability.

Shop General Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the performance and assist with the professional development of the Shop Manager and staff.

• Develop and manage budgets which includes CapEx, annual site budget, cost management and site profitability.

• Utilize business system tools to make decisions impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of the Minooka operation.

• Measure and analyze key performance indicators including financial performance, productivity, resource loading, quality & safety metrics.

• Identify and drive work process improvements and automation of processes that improve overall business operations for the site.

• Manage vendor, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), partners, and customer relationships including quality audits, maintenance cycle planning, business reviews, pricing, and contracts.

• Implement MVS annual planning business initiatives.

• Recognize new market opportunities and partner with sales management to develop strategies to penetrate and generate profitable sales.

• Manage day-to-day business operational requirements in a professional and timely manner.

• Daily communication with Shop Manager to have an understanding of overall shop workload and help support any changes in schedule, scope or resource requirements.

• Daily communication with inside operations staff of Repair Estimators, Repair Coordinators and Quality Assurance to help ensure business needs are prioritized and meeting customer, supplier and OEM requirements.

• Work with the Safety & Quality Management Team to optimize safety both in the shop and field.

• Review all customer satisfaction forms, evaluate results, and provide feedback to repair team for recognition or improvements where appropriate.

Requirements

Shop General Manager Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance or related experience required.

• 5+ years of people management experience required.

• Financial and business acumen experience required.

• Efficiently manage difficult situations and respond promptly to internal customer needs.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication skills.

• Provides candid feedback to others as needed and navigates crucial conversations.

• Motivates others and drives a strategic vision within the organization.

• Proven ability to build followership and create cohesive teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word,Excel,PowerPoint) and adeptness in navigating the internet and learning new business systems.

Shop General Manager Compensation:

Salary: $130k -$160k inclusive of base and bonus

Shop General Manager: Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• Ability to work in a loud industrial environment

• Comfortable working around industrial equipment with exposed moving parts
