GBI has always maintained that our employees are our greatest asset and we are now seeking to add to our team in our Portland, Oregon region. We are searching for a qualified candidate to fill an opening for a Shop Engineer.
The Shop Engineer will work alongside the Master Mechanic in the Oregon Region to assist in management of the equipment fleet and maintenance program. The Shop Engineer position requires strong leadership, attention to detail and schedules, and mechanical ability.
Manage Oregon region HCSS Dispatcher program
Assist with scheduling and utilization of regional equipment fleet
Manage fleet inspection reporting and GPS tracking systems
Coordinate and schedule rentals of equipment and jobsite support
Review regional shop cost reports with managers
Support master mechanic in scheduling of repairs and backlog management
Procure tools, supplies and parts for maintenance staff
Review and approve shop-related invoices
Monitor and manage licenses, registrations, and permits for regional fleet and drivers
Education / Skills / Technical Knowledge
Education: Diesel Technician degree, or equivalent
Experience: Two years of heavy equipment maintenance preferred
Must have computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, plus dispatcher software
Certifications & Licenses: Valid Driver's License with clean driver's abstract
