Job Purpose
The Shoe Library Manager will oversee and direct all operations related to the organization, cataloging, storage, tracking, and logistics of the company's shoe library. This includes managing the maintenance of the shoe library, fulfilling sample requests, building strong working relationships between the shoe library and the product teams, developing and implementing efficient systems and procedures, and driving productivity amongst the team. In addition to the management responsibilities, this position also provides hands-on support for the day-to-day activities within the shoe library.
This is a management-level position, serving as the leader for the shoe library team. As such, this position is responsible for the performance, staffing, training, and scheduling of the shoe library team, including both full-time and temporary staff.
This role is also responsible for creating a friendly, positive work environment and a first-class guest experience.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Manage the shoe library staff, including hiring, training, assigning workloads and evaluating performance
Set schedules and manage time-keeping for the shoe library team in compliance with company and state regulations for breaks and overtime
Drive productivity amongst the shoe library staff through delegation, goal-setting, performance management, celebrating team achievements, and creating an engaged and results-driven team environment
Partner with Skechers Human Resources to support the shoe library team with training, compliance, performance management, and learning and development opportunities
Oversee and provide hands-on support for the organization, cataloging and storage systems for the entire shoe collection inventory
Develop and implement processes for tracking shoe locations, availability status, and logistics
Manage the physical storage area and facility, maintaining organization, cleanliness and proper storage conditions
Establish policies, procedures and training opportunities for shoe library operations
Successfully conduct and complete training for new employees and temporary staff
Respond to employees' inquiries locating/tracking shoes, emphasizing first-class customer service
Order, track, and report inventory
Prepare accurate reports for upper management as needed
Make special shipping arrangements as necessary
Utilize logistics IT tools to optimize procedures
Keep logs and records of shoe stocks, etc.
Implement RFID/QR Code or other identification and tracking system for samples
Other projects and duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Ability to work on-site at the Skechers 330 building
High level of professionalism and customer service
Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, quick-moving environment
Ability to conduct detailed procedures within time constraints
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Teams, Outlook etc.)
Working knowledge of Skechers inventory systems (It's the S)
Creativity
Technologically savvy
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years of experience with inventory management, preferably in a retail or warehouse setting
Previous management experience required
Demonstrated capability to supervise, lead, and drive results and productivity amongst a team
The pay range for this role is $35-$40/hr USD
