Position Summary:

As a shipping and Receiving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient movement of goods both inbound and outbound. Your responsibilities will include coordinating shipments, managing the loading process, ensuring proper documentation, and overseeing the receiving process. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining communication with carriers, managing ERP systems, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and providing support to various departments within the organization. We are seeking a candidate with strong leadership skills, experience in logistics management, and a keen attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate shipping of all orders.

  • Manage the loading process for outbound shipments.

  • Communicate daily with carriers for freight movements.

  • Ensure proper paperwork is provided with all shipments

  • Domestic and International.
  • Report daily on all orders shipped and updated in ERP.

  • Coordinate receiving of all orders.

  • Confirm received materials match PO and determine proper movement of the material.

  • Receive in ERP to show available timely.

  • Report on all orders received daily, put away, and updated in ERP.

  • Review weekly billing from carriers to pricing agreement and quotes.

  • Act as escalation point with local carriers as needed.

  • Communicate with production, sales, procurement, project managers, and others to communicate needs, shortages, and other items as needed to ensure orders are ready to ship.

  • Track KPI's for your site and report monthly to Direct of Logistics and Transportation.

  • Attend Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's) with carriers.

  • Provide shipping quotes to team when requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 to 7 years recent experience in Shipping & Receiving Management or Logistics, preferred in Manufacturing industry.

  • 5 to 7 years recent experience working with ERP systems, preferred in D365.

  • 2 to 4 years recent experience in KPI analytics.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PP).

  • Highly organized and self-motivated.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field In lieu of degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience will suffice.

  • 2 to 4 years recent experience with international shipping requirements and documentation.

  • Previous experience with process development and continuous improvement initiatives.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.

  • Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

  • Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

  • Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to learn new software as required.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft D365 ERP.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works in the office of a manufacturing plant environment with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with working in a high traffic, heavy machinery, manufacturing plant.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM (may vary by area in department). Job requires overtime. Work hours may change at Management's discretion with prior notice.
