Essential Functions

  • Develops and maintains a procedure manual for the shipping and receiving department.

  • Oversees the selection and scheduling of common carriers to ensure on-time and cost effective delivery of shipments.

  • Responsible for maintaining all department specific ISO documentation.

  • Organizes, maintains and improves parts supermarket, receiving and shipping operations.

  • Overseas and maintains upt o date maintenance logs on all powered lifts.

  • Ensures that all staff has the proper licenses and certifications to operate vehicles and equipment.

  • Maintains a safe working environment.

  • Manages waste removal regarding garbage, cardboard and scrap.

  • Supervision and training/cross-training fo the shipping/receiving departments.

  • Repsonsible for 5S, parts supermarket and shipping areas.

Major Duties

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages personnel and activities to ensure effective and efficient processing, shipping, storage, and issuance of materials throughout the manufacturing organization.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate, Associates/Bachelors Degree a plus.
  • 2-3 years previous experience in material stores, shipping and receiving.

Training for various types of packing will be given and the Shipping Associate 1 will then need to successfully perform those tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Properly pack and identify tote and tool contents. Perform packing procedures relevant to proper containerization of mills for transport. Will be capable of operating a forklift. Can use construction type tools and equipment with ease. Will exhibit dependability in attendance, learning, and performance. Will cooperate with Supervisors, and Co-Workers. Will exhibit organizational skills. Will exhibit physical fitness for performance of job duties.
