Shipping Supervisor - Galesburg, IL775 S. Linwood RoadGalesburg, Illinois, 61402United States The opportunity: Come work as a Shipping Supervisor at a growing company with very competitive pay and benefits, with opportunities to advance and learn alongside accomplished leaders in the Corrugated Packaging industry

Coordinate with 3rd party freight provider to schedule runs in the most cost-efficient and time-saving manner possible Supervise Forklift Operators in the daily routine of loading trucks neatly and to the customers complete satisfaction Attend daily Scheduling Meeting and assist the Plant Scheduler in meeting our customers requirements Prepare work orders for and coordinate repairs of trucks, trailers, forklifts, dock plates, and dock doors Coordinate with Sales Service the delivery of the customer orders on time Keep upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department Provides leadership and coaching to ensure that projects are completed on time and that the team provides value to its customers Enforce corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with the violating employees and union representatives Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with departmental personnel Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals Communicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changes Establish high morale within department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems Develop strong rapport with various freight lines Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract safety program, and good housekeeping

How you will impact WestRock: Increase the On-Time Delivery (OTD) to 96% or better Improve the overall morale of the Plant by inclusion and teamwork Drive Lean and continuous improvement processes

What you need to succeed: Strong leadership skills required; 3+ years of supervisory experience in box plant or manufacturing facility is a plus Previous experience in a Shipping Department/and or Inventory Control Must be proficient with Excel spreadsheets and data entry Knowledge of AS400 system or KIWI is a plus Excellent organization skills and attention to detail required Effective process management skills Excellent verbal, written and communication skills College Degree strongly preferred; must have high school diploma or equivalent
