The Shipping & Receiving/Replenishing Supervisor organizes all daily logistical operations including oversight of deliveries, ensures loading accuracy, and serves as liaison between customers, manufacturing and delivery drivers. Coordinates and ensures all backhauls, looking for additional opportunities to backhaul freight.
This position reviews all drivers records for compliance with DOT and FMCSA Regulations. The Shipping & Receiving/Replenishing Supervisor is responsible for evaluating and directing all shipping employees, drivers, truck loaders, receiving and replenishing personnel. This position plays an active role in researching cost savings opportunities and presents findings to the President.
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor manages all aspects of fleet maintenance. This position is also responsible for maintenance and training of Vista Employees on PIT Equipment, i.e. Fork Trucks, Powered Pallet Jacks, Stock Pickers, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Schedules and coordinates delivery of all materials to and from customers.
2.In collaboration with the President & Plant Manager, analyzes current logistics systems and procedures with goal to identify and implement cost savings measures.
3.Develops, updates and maintains procedures and documentation for all Standard Operating Procedures relating to inventory and replenishment.
4.Develops and recommends improvements of inventory storage, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
5.Manages backhaul operations including researching opportunities for additional business.
6.Develops and conducts training program(s) to ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA.
7.Monitors drivers logs and records to ensure DOT and FMCSA compliance.
8.Responsible for maintaining records and other documentation for fleet are up to date and accurate.
9.Develops, updates and maintains procedures and documentation for all Standard Operating Procedures relating to inventory and replenishment.
10. Monitors safety compliance for department including lifting techniques, driving records, vehicle maintenance inspection, handling and storage, tow motor operation and security of shipping area.
Supervises up to 25 employees. The Shipping & Receiving/Replenishing Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
1.Knowledge of Shipping/Delivery and Inventory/Replenishing procedures.
2.Establish records management system to accurately track receipt of goods and any quality issues encountered.
3.Knowledge of safe work habits necessary for departmental staff to perform their duties injury free such as proper lifting techniques and Inspection and maintenance of motor vehicles and equipment.
4.Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with clients, employees, and industry professionals.
5.Must have effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts and ideas to others.
6.This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation toward excellent client services.
Summary Minimum Education & Experience Required
A Bachelors Degree in a related field and/or a similar combination of experience in a position with increasingly responsible experience in modern inventory/receiving techniques along with a variety of related records keeping duties.
Must have a broad range of receiving knowledge, inventory procedures, a manufacturing background, and must be able to plan and think strategically.
Must have excellent leadership skills, organizational skills, and a positive style personality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work inside, work protracted or irregular hours, work around machines with moving parts and moving objects, this position will work closely with others in addition to working alone.
The supervisor may be exposed to excessive or intermittent noise, and dust. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include manufacturing machines and equipment, hand tools, computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, and possibly a forklift and automobile.
Considerable physical exertion required involving bending, stooping, lifting or carrying heavy items (50 - 75 lbs). Routine discomforts from exposure to moderate levels of heat, cold from working in the warehouse facility.
