Responsible for the supervision of a team of employees responsible for shipping company products,

monitoring work daily to ensure work is accurate and on schedule,

and providing a safe and controlled work environment for all shipping personnel.


This position is considered full time (40 hours a week on average, sometimes more) position. Follows

all policies, procedures, SOPs, cGMPS, Work Instructions, and supervisor instructions. This duty is

performed daily, about 100% of the time.

Accountable for the quality of work and safety of employees in the Shipping area.

  • Determine the weekly work assignment schedule for all shipping employees.

  • Schedule employees (temporary and full time) for training on all shipping procedures and for equipment training (RF, forklift, pallet jack).

  • Establish a training matrix to assure that all shipping employees are cross trained.

  • Follow up on training to verify that proper training has occurred.

  • Set up training as needed on all new or revised SOPs.

  • Write and update as needed all Shipping/Receiving SOPs.

  • Build, monitor and release shipping waves as needed with input from management.

  • Establish strong relationship with the customer service staff.

  • Follow up to assure that all of our customers special instructions and expectations are met.

  • Inventory shipping supplies (at least monthly) and order as needed.

  • Assure that the control cage inventory is cycle counted at least weekly.

  • Assure that the non controlled inventory is cycle counted at least weekly.

  • Assure that the vault inventory is cycle counted each time picking is completed.

  • Track the progress of and assure that the entire warehouse is cycle counted at least once per quarter.

  • Maintain product picking area layout.

  • Transport product and components between company locations driving a company provided box truck on an as needed basis.

  • Perform as a hands on supervisor assisting wherever needed to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Ability to focus on the needs and requirements of the company.

  • Fully proficient in all aspects of the warehouse management software and able to assist employees/troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Strong understanding of how Customer Service operates.

  • Ability to look at the big picture, not just the immediate task at hand.

  • Able to analyze tasks, focusing on continuous improvement.


Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school,

with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 12 to 18 months

related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent

combination of education and experience.


Supervises 20-25 non-supervisory employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations

policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning,

assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing

complaints and resolving problems.


Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal

documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory

agencies, or members of the business community.


Occasional routine contacts with persons outside the organization. This would include contacts with

suppliers, mail service, etc.


Contacts with other departments or offices and also frequently with individuals in middle level positions;

consulting on problems which necessitate judgment and tact in presentation to obtain cooperation or approval

of action to be taken. Also, important contacts with associates as required in advanced supervisory jobs.


Intermediate: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

Basic: Accounting, Payroll Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint


Forklift experience or the ability to be licensed. DEA background checks are required prior to being allowed

to perform duties in the control cage and the C2 vault. DEA background checks are required prior to being

allowed to drive the company provided truck to transport product between company locations.

vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth

perception, and ability to adjust focus.
