Compensation: $14.12 - $16.59 hourly - shift differential may apply

Employment Type: Full-Time


  • Transfer and store items in JD Edwards using trans collector with hand held or stationary computers. Receive material into JD Edwards then creates Identification labels.

  • Prepare trucks for safe loading, wrapping, banding, and bolting of items. Responsible for proper weight distribution and accurate counts.

  • Unloads trucks, locates packing lists, check quantities received, condition of material, etc. performs quantity and location audits. Move and place all materials, tooling, scrap, and waste as needed.

  • Moves items to and from various areas throughout the warehouse, plant and machining operations.

  • Using internal shipping reports obtain all items on list prior to loading. Figure load size and method of loading.

  • Maintain FIFO inventory control.

  • Monitor and support materials flow in and out of the Machine Shop

  • Perform other varies duties as instructed by Supervisor.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Proficient at reading and writing

  • Willingness to work in non-climate controlled, foundry environment

  • Previous S/R experience a PLUS

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must be able to use scales and drive a forklift

  • Must be able to balance the truck loads.

VIEW JOBS 5/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-19T00:00 JOB SUMMARY: The Machine Operator Basic is responsible for performing set-ups, making minor adjustments and operates mechanical packaging equipment. Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements both before and after product is packed in the Packaging department. Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Performs set-ups, makes minor adjustments and operates mechanical packaging equipment during a shift on a variety of machines. * Supply/load trays, flexible packaging or cartons into machines as needed. * Must be able to observe machine operation at all times. * Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is packed. Remove/sort unacceptable product. Place product or waste into designated color-coded containers. * Read scales to check packaging weights and accordingly adjusts machines. * Read and understand bagger/cartoner/code date programs. * Assist other packaging employees with rewraps. * Perform required housekeeping to keep work areas clean such as sweeping floor, putting trash in trash containers, picking up product from floor. * Work in close proximity to co-workers. * Work with minimal supervision and at times independently. * Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times. * Verbally communicate instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors and employees from all departments. * Meet Company attendance standards of start and end time for work as scheduled. * Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law. * Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies. * Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: * Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift. * Ability to use hands and fingers. * Ability to see, hear and talk. * Lift/carry up to 100 lbs. * Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required. * Able to walk up to 400 yards to work areas. * Stand eight hours per shift. * Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions and problems. * Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week. * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. * Repetitive reaching over head, under and across throughout shift. * Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, etc. * May climb steps to and from work and break areas. * Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment in close proximity to others. * Ability to distinguish colors. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. * Ability to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions. * Repetitive bending, stooping and twisting throughout shift. * Ability to work in wet, humid areas. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form. * Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary. * May work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles and vibration. * May be required to work in high precarious places and/or in outside weather conditions. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: * Maintain harmonious working relations with employees from all departments. * Maintain harmonious working relations with management from all levels. * Communicate effectively with all employees and management. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: * High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. * (3) Three -- (5) Five years machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment; Experience in the baking and/or packaging industry a plus. * Basic math and reading skills required. * Basic PC skills required. * Basic mechanical skills required. * Ability to work safely on any shift (8-12 hours/day), weekends and overtime. * Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently at times. * Excellent communication, decision-making and organizational skills. * Strong self-confidence and leadership skills.
