ANNOUNCEMENT

Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC Educational Employee full-time position of Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is work bearing the primary responsibility for all shipping and receiving for the College and much of the College District. The work also bears the primary responsibility for updating and maintaining the college's asset database, applying property tags, physical inventories of college equipment. This position will utilize a high level of independent judgement to solve problems and be responsible for the execution of projects and associated processes. Inventory, disposals, to include organizing transactions through online sales, requires a high level of technical capability and specialized training.

Shipping and Receiving work involves manual labor and clerical duties on the receiving dock, in college storage areas, and to a lesser extent district-wide. Duties include packaging and organization of outgoing shipments; receipt, unpacking, storage and delivery of incoming shipments; issuing and applying property tags; data entry into the PeopleSoft Asset Management module; maintenance of all shipping and receiving records; management of storage space; equipment surveys and inventories. Responsible for the supervision of two part-time workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in related field plus 3 years of related full-time work experience.

  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and perform work requiring physical exertion more than 50% of the time.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Certified or willing to become and maintain certification to operate shipping and receiving equipment to include forklifts.

  • Experience with record keeping preferred.

SALARY

$37,800 annually
