S U MM A R Y :
This position is primarily responsible for expediting all orders through the Warehouse Management System(s).
Works closely with customer service, client representatives and drivers of trucking firms to achieve and maintain high service levels. Coordinates drivers' equipment, and freight. Ensures that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time.
Works with warehouse personnel to ensure proper receipt, stocking and shipment of product.
Although this is noted for 2nd shift, the selected candidate must be flexible and
will to work any hours that are assigned.
Q U A LIFI C A T IO N S :
A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred. One to two years related experience in at least two areas of warehouse operations, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. WMS / A S 4 0 0 e x p e r i e n ce a n d k n o w le d ge is preferred . Must be able interact with others on a professional basis. Regular attendance is necessary to perform this job in a satisfactory manner. Ability to use a computer proficiently and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel are necessary. Applicant must be capable of handling highly demanding scenarios. Flexible schedule is required for coverage.
P R IM A R Y R ESP O N S I B ILI T I E S :
Process carrier loads to include printing of labels, loading, etc.
Assign and monitor Warehouse Management System(s) to ensure workflow.
Meet or exceed all service and efficiency standards for shipping and receiving
Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L.) documents
Handle all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window
Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities
Maintain legible and accurate records and logs as required
Communicates shipment issues to include inbound paperwork requests,
finished outbounds, trailer needs, etc.
Communicates and performs order changes to include capacity cuts, critical cuts, etc.
Prepare afterhours documentation to include inbound/outbound paperwork, shift handoff, etc.
Identify and address operational priority tasks to include critical loads, turn time, special requests, placarding, lockups, stuck pallets, etc.
Maintain the facility dock door control board to be accurate at all times
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can't be self -corrected to the warehouse supervisor
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with Penske's standards of housekeeping.
Conduct yourself in a polite and service oriented manner towards customer representatives and fellow associates
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
2 years of general office experience required
1 year of customer service experience required
High School diploma or equivalent required
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
AS400 experience preferred
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
