Candidates must be located within the greater Chicago area with the ability to travel easily within the Chicagoland area. Currently, the office location is 1850 West Fulton in Chicago. In August, Intelligentsia will move to 7300 S Central Ave in Bedford Park.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for all material movements in, through, and out of the facility, in compliance with Intelligentsia's Good Manufacturing Practices ("GMPs") and all food safety and OSHA standards. This person is responsible for loading and unloading inbound and outbound shipments from Bedford Park Location. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate physical receipt of all parcel and freight shipments to Intelligentsia in accordance with Intelligentsia's SOPs and other applicable policies, and is responsible for communicating any relevant information to the relevant parties concerning incoming shipments. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is also responsible for printing and fulfilling all Cased Good orders from Bedford Park Location.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate the forklift in a safe and efficient manner

• Responsible for all inbound and outbound shipments

• Maintain proper labeling and palletizing of all products on-site

• Promptly verify quantities and lots against PO's and transfer orders

• Distribute information to proper channels in accordance with Intelligentsia's SOPs

• Organize green coffee and non-coffee inventory

• Manage inventory storage space in collaboration with any department in the Operations channel.

• Maintain first in, first out process for all time sensitive lots.

• Maintain detailed shipping and receiving logs.

• Accurately record inventory transactions in company systems.

• Coordinate Trash and Recycling removal.

• Maintain adequate wood pallet inventory as directed by the Production Manager.

• Print shipping labels and fulfill all palletized and parcel cased goods orders.

• Maintain proper inventory par levels on cased goods and stage for fulfillment

• Responsible for forklift safety and maintenance

• Conduct regular forklift safety inspections, battery maintenance, etc

• Maintain Food Safety and OSHA standards in regard to dock and warehouse storage

• Play a strong role in organization and cleanliness of storage areas

• Practice effective communication between Bedford Park Facility and Chicago Roasting works to ensure seamless order fulfillment.

• General facility upkeep and maintenance (cleaning, organization, grounds maintenance, corrugated and waste removal)

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Qualifications:

• Certified for both sitting and standing forklift, or capable of being certified within 30 days

• 2+ years warehouse and/or manufacturing experience.

• Experience recording and maintaining shipping and receiving logs and recording shipment Transactions

• Basic computer, mechanical, and mathematical skills.

• Logical and methodological approach to problem solving.

• Highly organized.

• Flexible, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Thrives working within a highly structured and performance-driven environment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.

• Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with co-workers.

• Detail oriented, logical, analytical and methodological approach to problem solving.

Compensation

• $19.30 per hour
