Job Summary:

Shipping and Receiving Clerk:

Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

  • Filing copies of purchase orders

  • Unload incoming freight trucks and check for any apparent damage

  • Sign freight bills and other related functions

  • Open all packages from incoming freight and match packing slip with purchase order files

  • Count contents accurately and check count against amount shown on packing list

  • Make receiving memo for non-stock items and deliver to respective department or person designated on purchase order and obtain signature of person receiving item

  • Be responsible for placement of UPS rate charges on service order packages and type shipping labels for truck and related shipments such as bus and air freight

About you:

Basic Qualifications

A. Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

A. Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong phone skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data

  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

  • Ability to work closely with co-workers

B. Technical Skills

  • Computer skills
  • Excel
  • Worldship skills experience preferred, not required
  • ERP system experience preferred, not required

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Your focus is on executing store shipping/receiving/reverse logistics functions alone or as assigned by Store Management. Specific responsibilities include: * Receives vendor and internal shipments * Prices, organizes, evaluates or ships customer and product quality returns according to stated REI policies and procedures * Identifies opportunities to return product back into inventory that can be restocked and sold in-store * Processes and tracks customer mail-outs, inventory transfers, vendor or quality returns in a timely and accurate fashion according to REI procedures * Creates the needed flow of merchandise to the selling floor or stock as required * Performs recurring cycle counts and audits of targeted inventory as requested * Provides warehouse support, stocking or inventory functions as required * Follows loss prevention and safety procedures as directed by store leadership * Assumes responsibility for other functions as requested such as recycling, trash removal or simple maintenance tasks * Assists with sale preparation or damage and Garage Sale set up as requested Bring your passion and expertise You're an effective communicator.
