The Shipping Technician I prepares and ships AAR Composites products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Package products for shipping to assure that they will arrive undamaged.
Responsible for outbound shipping paperwork, such as packing list, freight bills, ship kits and other applicable documentation.
Arrange transportation for shipments as directed.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Production to assure that shipments leave as scheduled.
Cross train with Receiving and Inventory Control.
Preliminary inspection of material delivered to AAR Composites to detect damage to containers or contents.
Provide receiving reports as required by AAR Composites procedures.
Move received material to receiving inspection, the stockroom or to specific departments or individuals as appropriate.
Train new employees, planning, assigning and directing their work.
Back up the Distribution Supervisor as required.
Liaison with Customer Service.
Adhere to all AAR Composites Safety Procedures and Safety Accountabilities (Ref: SP-011).
Performs Shipping Facilitator job in his/her absence.
Participate in ISO and Continuous Improvement requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Two years experience in a Shipping/Receiving environment, or equivalent.
Valid Forklift License Certification.
Basic Hazardous Materials Transportation training.
Ability to effectively communicate with employees and managers.
Ability to comprehend and apply basic mathematics.
Ability to solve problems independently.
