What the Role Delivers

The purpose of this position is to lead the warehouse staff in the receiving, shipping and delivering of materials. In doing so the Shipping Lead will comply with all of AgroFresh's policies and procedures and perform all tasks assigned in a safe manner and ensure all warehouse staff is doing the same. The Shipping Lead will be accountable for meeting the required responsibilities and meeting the set quality standards at our Wapato production facility.

Key Responsibilities

In order of relative importance

  • Support and comply with all AgroFresh safety and environmental training policies and programs.

  • Maintain certificate for Forklift and Genie Boom Trainer

  • Active member of plant safety initiatives.

  • Print bills of lading and assigns order fulfillment duties which include lot number verification.

  • Supervises dock team. Responsible for ensuring that there are no mis-shipments sent to our warehouses or customers.

  • Arranges for transportation on LTL carriers and truck load carriers using approved carriers. Interacts with truck drivers and customers as needed.

  • Unloads and receives incoming raw materials with the exception of tanker trucks.

  • Assigns lot numbers to raw materials and provides this data to production clerk for entry into inventory management system.

  • Works with the lab to coordinate sampling of incoming raw materials and products for re-label or repack

  • Maintains electronic raw material lot number assignment log.

  • Supplies and attaches raw material lot numbers tags to matching raw materials received.

  • Works with a FIFO format for inventory control.

  • Works with EHS on disposal shipments.

  • Assigns storage space for raw materials.

  • Loads LTL, T/L and container shipments.

  • Signs bill of ladings and supplies placards and SDS sheets as required. Ensure lot numbers are correctly noted on bill of ladings.

  • Communicates with customer service on item shortages in a timely manner.

  • Works with supply chain manager regarding inventory levels and items needed for specific shipments, especially exports.

  • Implements and maintains a best practices warehouse management system and participates in weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory.

  • Monitor and approve shipping over time hours.

  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace.

  • UPS and FedEx small shipping

  • Other duties as assigned

What the Job Requires

  • 5+ years of experience in shipping and warehouse management

  • Forklift and Genie Boom certified

  • DOT Hazardous materials certification

  • IATA certification

  • IMG certification

  • Some local travel, up to 5%, may be required

What to Have Done and Know How to Do

These skills and experiences are highly desirable; however, they do not preclude exceptions based on an individual's performance history and demonstrated potential.

  • Able to multitask and supervise employees

  • SAP Strong business knowledge relevant to approved confidential information including supply and transportation data

  • experience preferred

  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, etc.

  • A working knowledge of FIFO and lot number control

Local Details

  • Hourly rate for the position ranges from $24 - $34 per hour depending upon experience

  • Depending upon company and individual performance, this role may be bonus eligible

  • This role is required to be on-site
