ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group, the Door Group, focuses on the manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial market catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, aerospace, defense, sporting venues and education.

We have just begun recruitment efforts for a Shipping Lead to add to the Team! This will be an on-site role based out of our Southeast Service Center or regional manufacturing facility based in Austell, Georgia.

What would you do as our Shipping Lead?

In this position, you will help to manage the workflow between our warehouse, vendors, and customers. You will be the liaison between all parties ensuring that deliveries are accurate and are being consistently made on-time, as we work to meet the needs of our customers.

You would also:

  • Hands-on supervisory role ensuring shipping department operations

  • Lead, mentor and develop team

  • Perform all shipping tasks required to satisfy customer's needs, both internally and externally

  • Help to unload trucks and ensure materials are placed into the proper storage areas

  • Maintain quality control for in-coming and out-going orders

  • Manage inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and help to eliminate discrepancies

  • Ensure compliance and safety policies, as well as maintains a safe working environment

  • Communicates and coordinates between Purchasing, Receiving and Accounting departments, as well as with carriers and drivers

  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.

  • Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • 3+ years of logistics experience within a shipping, receiving, manufacturing or distribution environment

  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously

  • Proficient computer skills including email, Microsoft Suite, JDE or other MRP systems

  • Comfortable using basic math skills
