1st Shift About The Opportunity
The Shipping Coordinator is a critical role in the Shipping Department. This plant level position is responsible for processing deliveries, updating shipment dimensional data, routing, and contacting carriers. The Coordinator is frequently required to assist in resolving shipment issues with multiple departments. Coordinators process all outbound shipments and manage the associated shipping documents. This position also would be the Champion for New Software systems, which would require, leadership, training, of individuals and traveling to other locations.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Schedule deliveries based on available inventory, and anticipated inventory (based on production schedule), and order promise dates. The goal is to meet all customer expectations related to customer requested ship dates.
Plan shipments and distribution of work to personal based on inventory availability.
Create pick lists, bills of lading, custom documents, etc. to support the shipping process
Check sales orders and process deliveries in accordance with shipping instructions.
Communicate with customer support and corporate logistics to process shipments.
Route shipments with ORBIS carrier base or customer carrier.
Calculate cube and dimensional information for shipments.
Post all deliveries the same day, including scanning
Manage the daily truckload appointment schedule; interacting and directing drivers
Schedule loading and unloading trucks to minimize turnaround time.
Expedite parts required for on-time shipments (based on production schedule).
Review shipping performance daily with Materials Manager and Warehouse Team Leaders.
Ensure inventory accuracy as it pertains to shipping and receiving functions.
Where applicable accurately receiving raw materials and handling returns.
Follow up with quality problems with necessary plant personnel to resolve issues.
Record all inventory transactions via the SAP business system
Preforms functions with serialized inventory and Warehouse Management System

Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required
1 - 3 years
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
The ability to type 80 words per minute.
Pass OPAC Assessment Math Test with 80%
Pass OPAC Assessment Microsoft Office Software test (Outlook, Excel, and Word) with 80%
Ability to easily navigate Web Based applications.
