Shipping Clerk - International

Our Evansville Team is looking to fill an International Shipping Clerk position! This position be responsible for the shipping responsibilities on international outbound shipments as well as assist with domestic shipments. This position will also assist in the coordinator of materials / inventory in the Evansville shop.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Place orders (purchase requisitions) to obtain an adequate supply of shipping and receiving materials.

• Maintain knowledge of proper packaging methods.

• Maintain knowledge of common shipping and receiving equipment.

• Obtain and maintain certification as a Flanders certified fork truck operator.

• Assist management with developing agreements with freight carriers and monitor their performance.

• Make arrangements for pick up by the specific carrier(s) of all domestic and international shipments as needed.

• Complete all commercial documents for international shipments.

• Complete Bill of Lading forms.

• Maintain knowledge of various forms and software used and required by freight, international and parcel carriers.

• Complete all appropriate internal and external documentation for proper shipping procedure.

• Provide proof of deliveries to the Invoicing team as required.

• Complete freight requisitions as required.

• Package product appropriately for shipment.

• Load trucks for shipment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in shipping

• International shipping experience is highly preferred.

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office products

• Ability to remain calm in time sensitive situations

• Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form

• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures

• Ability to exercise initiative and judgment when needed
