Shipping Clerk

Job Responsibilities

• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas and lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.

• Operate banders and wrap product according to job specifications/requirements.

• Load crates in carriers' trucks.

• Ensure paperwork is signed by carrier when order is loaded, secured and ready to ship.

• Accurately package, label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges.

• Collaborates and communicates with logistics, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.

• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.

• Troubleshoot shipping issues and complaints that arise and work to solve them.

• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

• Prepare and print shipping labels for ground orders and corresponding shipping needs.

• Take pictures of all parts to be shipped.

• Review Ship Loose Bill of Materials (SBOM) to identify ship loose parts for orders.

• Pull parts from warehouse locations for ship loose pack lists/parts orders.

• Ensure orders are forwarded to billing when orders are shipped.

• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.

• Assemble, examine and package boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped. Ensure shipments meet internal and customer specifications.

• Affix proper shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

• Assist with preforming cycle counts and year-end inventory.

• Cross train in other warehouse functions. Provide additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

• Scan, sort and provide copies of outgoing documents to logistics and accounting.

• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Experience

• Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.

• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

• A valid driver's license and a good driving record.

• Working knowledge of forklift truck operation.
