Shipping Clerk - 1St Shift

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $21.60 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Shipping clerk who will join our team in Orrville, OH.

As a shipping clerk, you will be responsible for scheduling and printing orders to be picked and pulled, creating labels for the loaders, assisting drivers with bills, and closing out the orders. This is a very busy, fast-paced work environment. You must be able to be swift and adapt to the current task at hand.

What you'll do in this role:

• Appointing customer orders

• Printing pick tickets based off the loading schedule

• Assisting pickers with pick tickets

• Printing labels for orders to be loaded

• Assisting loaders and providing necessary paperwork

• Assist drivers checking out and providing their bills

• Closing out orders in the system

• Keep up to date what orders are in the dock doors and when they are finished

• Drive continuous improvement by examining existing processes and technologies

• Compose training materials and direct training sessions for existing and new associates

• Assist with special projects and all other duties as assigned

What you'll need to be successful:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to be flexible with tasks and workflow

• Has a yearning to learn and grow

• Advanced PC skills; ability to use Microsoft Office suite & Google Chrome proficiently

• Professional presence; ability to communicate effectively via phone & email

• Ability to be flexible with work schedule - overtime and weekends as needed

• Customer Service experience

• 2+ years required (recent experience within 5 years)

• SAP experience - preferred but not required

• Transportation experience

• 2+ years required (recent experience within 5 years)

• Shipping experience

• 2+ years required (recent experience within 5 years)
