Position Purpose

The Shipping Associate must be able to follow directions given by the Department Supervisor assisting in the activities of the shipping department and ensuring compliance with all company policies, OSHA, federal, state and local regulations and procedures.

The Shipping/Receiving Associate performs shipping and receiving duties in a warehouse setting ensuring accuracy and security of inventory received and shipped. Workers operate a gas or electric powered forklift truck to move, pick, pack, stack, load, or unload materials in and about the warehouse, staging area, etc. Work may include using banding and shrink wrap machines. Workers may use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product as it is moved

This position is also responsible for performing daily activities as required in departmental processes.

This is a permanent position with the company , not a contract position.

Pay: $13.00/hr

Location: North Austin, Howard Lane

Requirements

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pick and prepare goods for shipping
  • Load/unload palletize and label all shipments
  • Check goods received against packing list
  • QC/QA and re-work as necessary
  • Move goods to correct staging locations
  • Restock goods into stocking locations for shipping needs
  • Inputs inventory received into data system
  • Perform cycle counts on inventory as required
  • Follows up with any discrepancies
  • Prepares routing request as directed
  • Fill orders as required by order form
  • Scan/Invoice orders to ensure accuracy
  • Box and pack orders to ensure damage free delivery
  • Scan/Invoice orders to achieve 100 percent accuracy
  • Record shipment data into NetSuite
  • Package orders/Product to ensure zero damage during shipping according to guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department and work area.
  • Inspect all power equipment and complete the safety inspection sheet before operating machinery.
  • Comply with all company policies, OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations and procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use all required PPE.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move product within the warehouse
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications Must have 1-3 years experience with a stand up and/or sit down forklift

Required

Must be able to work varied shifts to include overtime and weekends.

Basic Computer Skills/Typing Skills

Preferred

1-3 years experience with NetSuite

Education

Must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

Physical Requirements

Can lift 50 to 100 lbs consistently through out the scheduled shift and perform repetitive tasks.
