Job Summary:

Direct and coordinate the activities of shipping finished product domestically and internationally while ensuring the Green Island Operation maximizes our potential to achieve our Quality Policy of 100% customer satisfaction and the annual targets set for on-time delivery of products to our customers. Supervise material handling department employees in the loading and unloading of trucks, movement and storage of supplies, raw materials, and finished goods. Supervises the timely and accurate receiving of supplies and raw materials into Oracle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety of all personnel within the Material Handling department. Ensuring appropriate and effective training and communications are maintained throughout the year.

  • Maintain communication with the Logistics Manager regarding production needs for order fulfillment.

  • Interact with Customer Service and Research & Development to ensure that we are in compliance with our goal of 100% Customer Satisfaction and On-time Shipments.

  • Prepare operational shipping schedules to ensure on time shipments, in addition to accurately fillingcustomer requested orders by coordinating shipping requests to customer specifications

  • Conducts detailed inventory cycle counts and checks (finished goods, wip, or raw material) as required by the Supply Chain Manager.Reconciles the inventory count, determine root cause for discrepancies and makes recommendations on business process improvements required to improve inventory accuracy.

  • Maintains the integrity of the inventory system, insuring locations are maintained, disposition of product in inventory is administered correctly.

  • Performs trouble shooting of inventory management system issues (transactions, data corruption) and coordinates corrective actions as necessary through correcting the issue directly, supervising IS resources, or user training.

  • Coordination of time and attendance system / labor reporting, coupled with daily approval of time and attendance, including pay codes.Complete weekly attendance report indicating any time off or attendance and punctuality issues.

  • Visual management techniques are to be used to monitor warehouse performance through establishing and reviewing visual controls for processes and equipment. Implements changes to improve product quality and overall warehousing efficiency through analysis of performance data and root cause analysis.

  • Resolve department problems and provide solutions to keep departments operating efficiently.

  • Manages, develops, trains, coaches, and evaluates the members of the material handling department.

  • Provides support to inventory system users to maintain accuracy of the system and business process improvements

  • Supervises hourly receiving position and insures incoming receipts compare the actual, identifying incoming product information (which may include lot numbers, material grades, counts, weights and/or other information) against the incoming product documentation (which may include bills of lading, invoices, P.O. numbers and/or other identifying documents).

  • Insures finished goods and raw material storage areas a maintained in an orderly fashion with strict adherence to FIFO and good housekeeping standards.

  • Performs production scheduling as a back-up to, and in the absence of the Logistics Manager.

  • Will actively engage in Lean Management by encouraging, teaching, participating in, and supporting the Lean Six Sigma culture and tools.

Other:

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • Two or more years of stock, inventory control, warehousing and distribution experience

  • One to three years of supervisory experience, preferable in a manufacturing setting

  • Ability to handle diverse personalities.

  • One to three years of experience working with Oracle

  • Need to be well organized, self-motivated, and flexible in addition to the ability to perform under pressure.

  • Able to navigate and effectively utilize MS Office Tools

  • Good communication skills both oral and written

Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)

  • Associate degree in Business Management or a related field

  • One to three years of experience working with Lean Six Sigma principles and concepts

  • One to three years of experience working in a union environment

  • Three to five years of experience of working with inventory control data bases, and inventory control processes

  • Three to five years of experience performing detailed finished goods inventory and reconciliation of discrepancies
