Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks to hire a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for the College of Arts and Sciences Stockroom. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for daily incoming shipments and dockside deliveries to the stockroom, which include receipt of goods, verification that goods are received in excellent condition, recording proof of delivery from bill of landing, and provides notification to faculty, staff and students when merchandise is received. In addition, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will assist the Supply Manger in managing the overall stockroom inventory on-hand, which include re-stocking chemicals, solvents, gases, general laboratory and educational supplies.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma and 2 years of related experience, or equivalency.
Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory processes are preferred.
The employee should know how to operate a personal computer, hand held scanner, pallet jack, balance, scale, and be familiar with OHSA regulations, University purchasing policies and procedures, and State procurement codes.
