Job Summary

As the Shipping and Receiving Clerk you will safely unload material, match packing list with an internal PO, verify material received is correct, and delivery to the appropriate shop.

Essential Duties

  • Safely unload trucks as they arrive.

  • Check bill of ladings to verify accuracy and completeness of deliveries.

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.

  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

  • Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine material assignment based on shop needs.

  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.

  • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.

  • Move materials to and from storage or production areas, or delivery vehicles, by hand or using a forklift.

  • Safely operate forklifts and other equipment.

  • Keep storage area(s) organized to ensure safety and materials can be located quickly.

  • Coordinate safety supplies are always full and equipment is properly inspected.

  • Alert proper personnel of any material discrepancies as soon as it's discovered.

  • Mandatory to carry a company phone, for handling assistance through out the day and to monitor emails for updates on incoming material.

  • Required to complete daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Basic material handling knowledge and experience is required.

  • Prior experience operating forklifts is a plus.

  • Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft Excel.

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, required.

  • This is a non-exempt position.

  • This position reports to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

  • Location is 2730 Mine and Mill, Lakeland, Florida.

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday

  • Friday, 7AM - 4PM and overtime and weekend work is frequently required.
  • Working environment is often times in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment / machinery, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.

  • While performing the duties of this job, you will:

  • Frequently use hands and arms in handling, moving materials, and manipulating things.
