Job Summary:

Primary associate responsible for ensuring the daily execution of outbound shipments. Shipping and receiving clerks thrive in environments that require them to be detail-oriented multitaskers. As a shipping and receiving clerk, you are on the front line, making sure that all employees at our company receive deliveries in a timely manner. You also make sure that customers receive the items they ordered in a timely manner, without any mistakes in the delivery. In this way, you will be seen as an important liaison between our business and our clients, making sure that everyone gets what they need quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process material orders on a daily basis, including accepting deliveries, labeling them and distributing packages and letters internally.

  • Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies.

  • Maintain the company stockroom by cleaning, organizing, and labeling items in storage on a regular basis.

  • Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for supervisors.

  • Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by boxing and lifting items as necessary and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large items.

  • Schedule large shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming items and personnel on hand to manage incoming shipments.

  • Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with shipping companies and clients who are receiving goods.

  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs

  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped

  • Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping

  • Track inventory and report any shortages to the materials team

  • Process orders based on the preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

  • Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred

  • 1 years' experience in manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics

  • Capable of working a consistent schedule

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience with spreadsheet or database software such as Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with inventory control practices

  • Experience with using customer management software (e.g Salesforce)

  • Two to five years' experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environment
