Shipper / Crater

AMETEK Precitech, Inc., is a world leader in the design and manufacture of ultra precision machining systems sold around the world. We are seeking a Shipper/Crater who will build custom wooden crates and pack and prepare various items for shipment following standard procedures. Additionally, the Shipper/Crater will unpack shipments, receive items, and move items to storage. This position involves the use of various power equipment to include: table saws, pneumatic nailers, screw guns, and operation of a fork truck. The successful applicant must be able to read and follow prints, work instructions, operate a computer, have knowledge of shipping requirements and shipping software, and be able to work independently to meet demanding and changing schedules and deadlines.Position Responsibilities:*

* Cut and assemble material using table saws, pneumatic nailers, screw guns. * Pack and label items for shipment. * Safe operation of a fork truck and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks. * Unpack received items and record in the computer. * Move items to storage. * Manage inventory and anticipate and order supplies as needed. * Lift up to 70 pounds on occasion, bending, stooping, and reaching. * Work independently and be able to make good decisions. * Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines. * Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment. * Assist with Facilities Maintenance duties as needed. * Occasionally work in other departments as needed, Stock Room, Inspection, Raw Materials.Essential Skills and Experience* 2 - 4 years of prior experience in working with wood building and crating high value products utilizing power tools and equipment. * Ability to work independently and cooperatively with little or no supervision. * Ability to work safely. * Knowledge of techniques to safely lift and move heavy items. * Prior experience or knowledge of shipping functions. * Computer skills, basic reading, writing and numerical ability. * Prior fork truck experience, with ability to be certified/licensed on-site. * High school diploma.CompensationSalary Minimum: MarketSalary Maximum: MarketIncentive: NoDisclaimer:Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
