Summary:

We are seeking a Shipboard Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (AC&R) Electrical Engineering Technician with demonstrated expertise in the electrical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of US Naval Auxiliary equipment. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience in troubleshooting and assessing AC&R/Compressed Air equipment in the capacity of a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of US Naval Auxiliary equipment such as Electrical Controllers, PLC, A/C electrical controls, refrigeration controls, air compressor controls, MRG dehumidifiers, and Sonar Dome DEPI gages.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the troubleshooting and assessment of AC&R/Compressed Air equipment.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient and effective operation of shipboard AC&R systems.

  • Document all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with established procedures.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent.

  • Desire four (4) year years of experience in general hands-on mechanical experience with US Navy HM&E equipment

  • Desire five (5) years specialized hands-on experience in the troubleshooting, assessment, operation, repair and maintenance of US Naval Ships' Electrical Controllers, PLC, A/C electrical controls, refrigeration controls, air compressor controls, MRG dehumidifiers, and/or Sonar Dome DEPI gages.

  • Have recent (within 24 months) hands-on experience with the respective equipment to support.

  • Demonstrated experience in the electrical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of US Naval Auxiliary equipment.

  • Knowledge of Electrical Controllers, PLC, A/C electrical controls, refrigeration controls, air compressor controls, MRG dehumidifiers, and Sonar Dome DEPI gages.

  • Proven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AC&R/Compressed Air equipment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical engineering or related fields.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

  • Physical agility and dexterity to maneuver through shipboard environments.

  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and superiors.
