Shift Utility

Job Purpose

To assist in the operations of the mill.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist all departments throughout the mill.

• Help with the saw line operations and blow down.

• Breakout saw line, strapper, and forklift.

• Help with rework.

• Perform housekeeping in saw line and paint booth area.

• Maintain area clean and safe.

• Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

• Complete control plans and operational check sheets monitoring production process.

• Learn job responsibilities of aids and fill in when needed.

• Able to be flexible and rotate between day and night shifts when needed.

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, squat, lift to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in confined spaces and at substantial heights.

• Ability to use a respirator.

• Ability to use radio and effectively communicate with all departments.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

• OSB mill environment subject to weather extremes.
