Job Duties
Hiram W. Davis Medical Center, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is a 94-bed medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses, skilled care, intermediate care, and long term care to individuals receiving services in DBHDS facilities and within the community that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Admissions to HWDMC are generally either permanent placement or special hospitalization. Patients typically come to HWDMC as a special hospitalization for step-down to stabilize, post-surgery rehabilitation, or long-term care.
The Evening & Weekend Unit Supervisors will monitor staff engaged in direct skilled nursing care and implementation of treatment plans for multiple patient areas on assigned shift. Assists the Assistant Chief Nurse Executive in the shift management of the department, including the administration, organization, supervision and evaluation of all activities and patient care.
The position will oversee and supervise the based operations of the unit(s) in the absence of the Unit Manager(s). Assists in quality assurance activities and assures compliance with Agency, Departmental and accrediting Agencies policies, procedures, rules and regulations. The position will be responsible for the quality of care, compliance and performance management of staff during various shifts.
Supervisors will be expected to work 5 day 8-hour shift schedules, this includes rotating weekend coverage to support the unit. The primary shifts will be 12:00PM - 8:30, 3:00PM-11:30PM, or 11:00PM - 7:30AM.

Minimum Qualifications
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in State of Virginia
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing coupled with demonstrated course work in continuing education
Considerable experience in nursing at the professional level coupled with experience in medical/surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, geriatric nursing, rehabilitative nursing and/or skilled nursing care of the mentally disabled.
Proven experience in supervision and administration
Additional Considerations
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing is preferred.
