Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Somerset, NJ is hiring a Shift Supervisor for the Operations group. This person will lead the training, monitoring and supervising of the production staff. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for employee assignments, safety, quality, production rates, material reconciliation, production reports, timelines and aligning on strategic goals to improve line efficiencies and output.

This is a full-time 2nd shift position: Monday

  • Friday, 3:00PM-11:30PM.

The Role

  • Monitor, organize, and perform all functions associated with commercial and clinical manufacturing and packaging and assures compliance to GMPs, SOPs, FDA, DEA and OSHA rules and regulations.

  • Oversees unit operations consisting of and not limited to Hot Melt Extrusion, Fluid Bed, high speed Encapsulation, Compression, Coating, Milling, Blending, Sifting and other processes where assigned.

  • Work seamlessly with partnering Team Leaders and direct report Technicians in ensuring productive and compliant operations within and between shifts

  • Address employee capacity constraints through the cross training of technicians on various manufacturing equipment in the facility.

  • Leads the Employee performance evaluations, new employee hiring and progressive discipline according to company guidelines and performance requirement, as well as approves staff vacation/personal days and leave of absence requests

  • Enter Trackwise PRs as needed to ensure a culture of Continuous Improvement.

  • Ensure document accuracy via completion of Batch records, label verification, raw material verification.

  • Investigate and prepare out of specification reports and customer complaints related to production in Trackwise program.

  • Staging, reconciliation and inventory label generation in ERP system (JD Edwards).

  • All other duties as assigned

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's Degree within an area of Science and Technology required with 1 or more years of experience with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Associates or no degree required with 4 or more years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry in Quality Control/Assurance or Manufacturing, and 2 or more years in a leadership role

  • Related industry experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry or a Food Manufacturing Environment

  • Thorough knowledge of cGMP and the ability to complete compliance/regulatory records/processes

  • Full understanding of FDA cGMP and DEA regulations

  • Experience with JD Edwards or a similar ERP system is required

  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve enhanced problems on the manufacturing equipment

  • Show a bias for action and demonstrate a can-do attitude by being a self-starter with demonstrated passion.

  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication

  • Candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment

  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
