PIC Group is seeking an Operator/Shift Supervisor for a perm/full time position located in Baconton, GA for a power plant. As a hands on Supervisor the responsibilities include Supervising one Operator and Operating, maintaining, and repairing stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as gas turbines, boilers, steam turbines, diesel engines, electrical generators, steam generators, gas compressors, air compressors, motors, and pumps to generate electrical power and steam for industrial process Supervises one Operator and Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
Records data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance.
Uses prescribed plant operating procedures to adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to backup equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment.
Visually inspects and listens to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, replacing valve packing, gaskets, valves, gauges, and cleaning or replacing other component parts as required.
Oils and lubricates equipment.
Performs water titration tests and adjusts chemical injection rates to maintain prescribed chemical limits in heat recovery steam generators and cooling towers.
Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operators logbook.
Opens and closes valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
Opens and closes circuit breakers for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Initiates purchase order for parts.
Reads and understands technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Performs routine preventative and basic corrective maintenance in accordance with technical manual procedures.
Prepares legible and understandable work orders for required preventative and corrective maintenance.
Reads, understands, and complies with all plant safety and regulatory procedures.

Oversees all aspects of the water test and treatment including maintaining inventory of treatment chemicals, testing standards, testing equipment, the chemical lab area, and water treatment log keeping.
Organizes and maintains all technical manuals, including entering changes as they are distributed.
Organizes all plant logs, prepares them for long term storage, and stores them in the facility warehouse. Recalls past logs as required.
Organizes, files, and updates all plant blueprints.
Preserves and cleans the boiler upper section, steam turbine and generator, and the steam condenser.
Safety Assistant: Assists the plant manager in the execution of the plant safety program by conducting safety training, weekly safety inspections, and MSDS file maintenance. Assists in preparation of the Emergency Response Plan, Fire Prevention Plan, and the Business Plan.
Oversees the proper execution of the plant tag out program.
Oversees the plant's waste oil management program, including the proper tracking and disposal of all waste oil.
Oversees the Lube Oil Quality Management program.
Maintains and organizes the oil sample and analysis logs.
Prepares control room inventory and corrects any deficiencies.
Maintains cleanliness of control room operator area.
Maintains and organizes the Facility Event logs.
Maintains any waste water effluent monitoring.
Helps with blueprint organization.
Preserves, maintains, and cleans the cooling towers, standby generator, and electrical (D-E).
Maintains and files environmental monitoring logs and reports.
Oversees all keys and locks for the Tagout/Lockout program.
Oversees equipment rotation.
Maintains and organizes the meter reading, and trip logs.
Preserves, maintains, and cleans the reverse osmosis unit, demineralization system, and the waste storage and neutralization tank areas.
Preserves, maintains, and cleans the fire protection systems, the gas turbine, the gas turbine package, and its associated generator.
Oversees electrical tool safety program.
