Provide hands-on supervision of caregiver staff during their shift, ensure provision of quality resident care, and uphold residence philosophy and resident well-being. Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living and support to residents.
Supervise the caregiver staff on duty in providing quality care and meeting the needs of residents in accordance with residence philosophy and policies.
Adhere to each resident's individual service plan and notify the Resident Services Director and Wellness Nurse of any changes in resident condition.
Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
Assist residents with their activities of daily living.
Check on residents every two hours and document and report findings.
Assist with resident activities.
Assist with serving meals and supervise caregiver staff in the dining room.
Ensure that dining room is cleaned after each meal service.
Assist with cleaning and tidying residents' rooms/apartments.
Assist with residents' personal laundry as needed.
Establish and maintain good relationship with residents and their families.
Ensure that all systems for providing and tracking resident care are completed in accordance with the residence policies and procedures.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
Assist in developing and maintaining a schedule for the caregiver staff that sufficiently meets the needs of residents and ensures proper staffing.
Ensure required paperwork for providing resident care is completed and up-to-date.
Review daily any and all communication tools used in providing resident care.
Communicate residents' needs with caregiver staff at change of shift and as needed.
Hiring, Supervising and Training
Assist in recruiting, hiring, supervising, and orienting resident care employees.
Lead by example, encourage teamwork, promote the residence philosophy, and provide ongoing coaching to employees.
Provide an "open door" to employees, addressing any concerns or grievances they may have.
Respond to on-the-job injuries in accordance with residence policies and procedures.
Assist in the training of all resident care employees in accordance to residence policies, training programs, and state and federal regulations.
Minimum one year experience in the assisted living or other human services field preferred.
Supervisory experience in a healthcare or service industry preferred.
Desire to work with older adults
Any required management training
Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to assisted living
