Position Summary

AutoZone's Full-Time Shift Supervisors assist the Store Manager with leading company initiatives and ensuring maximum productivity, training high performing AutoZoners in a safe environment, driving sales, controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures in accordance to AutoZone's expectation. Shift Supervisors exceeds customer's expectation by delivering a WOW! Customer shopping experience on assigned shifts by Living the Pledge every day.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists Store Manager with supervising, training and developing store personnel

  • Assumes responsibility for the store operation and commercial department in the Commercial Sales Manager and Store Manager's absence, on assigned shifts

  • Assists with management of the Commercial and Hub Departments, (as applicable), to ensure commercial accounts and stores are serviced and deliveries are made as promised

  • Delegates and ensures store merchandising tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Operates cash registers and follows established cash handling duties, including but not limited to deposits, petty cash and lane accountability

  • Ensures all company policies, and loss prevention procedures are followed

  • Utilizes ZNET to help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives

  • Maintains a safe working environment while ensuring AutoZoners are implementing those practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Monitors cash flow, inventory and security control

  • Maintains sales productivity, store appearance and merchandising standards

  • Conducts and reviews all opening and closing procedures

  • Manages emergency situations and conduct proper emergency procedures

  • Follows proper accident procedures

  • Provides feedback regarding AutoZoner performance to the store manager

  • Assists with monitoring and managing all activities related to Risk & Safety Management to maintain a safe work environment

  • Addresses customer concerns and resolves them with a goal of turning a complaint into a compliment

  • Processes returns and effectively manages inventory

  • Communicates AutoZoner issues and concerns to the Store Manager in a timely and confidential manner

  • Motivates AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service, enhance productivity level and market products to enhance sales and profits

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • ASE Certified preferred

  • Demonstrates high level of integrity

  • Excellent communication and decision making skills

  • Ability to drive customer service

Schedule and oversee projects being done onsite by maintenance or outside contractors. Ensure PM work is planned and completed in a timely manner while minimizing impact to the operations of the plant. Should be self-motivated with high regard for safety and integrity. Position Responsibilities: * Schedule PM duties * Work with the operations, maintenance, and with management, to track, trend, report and take effective corrective actions regarding equipment failures. * Help develop and maintain the mechanical integrity program. * Supervise 8-12 technicians assigned to PM and project duties. * Assist with work plan development as necessary. * Participate in meetings and provide suggestions for equipment reliability improvements. * Ensure manufacturer's procedures are followed and recommended materials are used for maintenance activities. * Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products. * Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. * Implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. * Responsible that all emission control systems are working properly, and that all federal, state, and local documentation are being followed. * Implements training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. * Confers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. * Confers with management to resolve any personnel issues. * Assists in controlling costs. * Responsible to manage all employees assigned to his/her area of responsibility. This includes requiring people to check out, clean, inspect and report any problems with the equipment on a routine basis. * Monitors employee training, while suggesting needed changes to workers, and work procedures as needed. * Involved in Lean initiative that affect production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. * Responsible for plant personnel safety, and compliance with company policy. Conducting disciplinary actions as needed. * Work closely with contractors of various disciplines as well as on-site maintenance personnel to achieve successful projects. Experience/Requirements: * An Associate's degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) or 4 years minimum maintenance experience. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills (communication, coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback). * Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project Management, etc. * Advanced Problem Solving Skills. * Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once. * Preferred: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent job experience Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
