Position Summary

AutoZone's Part-Time Shift Supervisors will assist the Store Manager with leading company initiatives and ensuring maximum productivity, training high performing AutoZoners in a safe environment, driving sales, controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures in accordance to AutoZone's expectation. Part-Time Shift Supervisors will exceed customer's expectations by delivering a WOW! Customer shopping experience on assigned shifts by Living the Pledge every day.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists Store Manager with supervising, training and developing store personnel

  • Assumes responsibility for the store operation and commercial department in the Commercial Sales Manager and Store Manager's absence, on assigned shifts

  • Assists with management of the Commercial and Hub Departments, (as applicable), to ensure commercial accounts and stores are serviced and deliveries are made as promised

  • Delegates and ensures store merchandising tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Operates cash registers and follows established cash handling duties, including but not limited to deposits, petty cash and lane accountability

  • Ensures all company policies, and loss prevention procedures are followed

  • Utilizes ZNET to help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives

  • Maintains a safe working environment while ensuring AutoZoners are implementing those practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Monitors cash flow, inventory and security control

  • Maintains sales productivity, store appearance and merchandising standards

  • Conducts and reviews all opening and closing procedures

  • Manages emergency situations and conduct proper emergency procedures

  • Follows proper accident procedures

  • Provides feedback regarding AutoZoner performance to the store manager

  • Assists with monitoring and managing all activities related to Risk & Safety Management to maintain a safe work environment

  • Addresses customer concerns and resolves them with a goal of turning a complaint into a compliment

  • Processes returns and effectively manages inventory

  • Communicates AutoZoner issues and concerns to the Store Manager in a timely and confidential manner

  • Motivates AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service, enhance productivity level and market products to enhance sales and profits

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • ASE Certified preferred

  • Demonstrates high level of integrity

  • Excellent communication and decision making skills

  • Ability to drive customer service

Essential Duties/Responsibilities * Responsible for assuring that all safety rules, procedures, and regulations are followed including the coordination and supervision of equipment isolation and lockout-tagout procedures. * Promotes accident prevention and safety awareness as defined in NRG policy. * Responsible for all Operational personnel and activities, proper operation of station equipment, and the continuity of operations from shift to shift. * Maintains the condition of station operating equipment (protects the asset). * Reviews and analyzes equipment malfunctions to provide priority input to proper parties. * Responsible for courteously accepting public comments and forwarding them to plant leadership. * Interprets pay policy consistently and accurately and approves time entry in a timely manner. Tracks attendance of assigned personnel. * Performs operational duties including control room, rounds, and lab tasks to relieve on-shift operators as needed during absences or for performance of other assignments. * Foster team oriented culture and builds trust to improve productivity and efficiency of plant personnel. * Responsible for communicating and leading in accordance with NRG vision and core values. * Appraises performance of personnel reporting directly to him/her. * Closely interacts with commercial operations in coordination of operational activities. * Responsible for ensuring competence levels of all direct reports on shift team and developing training plan with operation manager to correct deficiencies. Works with management to administer policy. This includes discipline to address performance and behavior issues. * Monitors, troubleshoots, reports, and assures repair to all emissions control and environmental systems to maintain acceptable and prescribed levels of plant effluents. * Accountable for taking appropriate action to minimize environmental events. * Initiates work notifications and communicates with maintenance on prioritization and scheduling. * Coordinates activities with other work groups, both internal and outside contractor/service personnel, to insure reliable operation and overall plant availability. * Completes all projects and assignments as directed by the Operations Manager. * Submits items and recommendations for proposed annual budgets. * Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of assigned equipment and overall plant. * Strongly support operations procedures to ensure operational consistency. Preference given to 2-year college or trade school graduate. Requirements: * 10+ years' experience in Industrial environment or Power Generation * High School or GED required * Strong understanding of environmental permits and plans. * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills * Ability to work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in the face of distractions. * Excellent communications skills including written, verbal and motivational. * Ability and willingness to lead and train subordinates to fully realize maximum team potential. * Ability to coordinate numerous activities under stress with poise, safely and successfully. * Excellent working knowledge of plant steam, mechanical, electrical and chemical systems and their appropriate integration for efficient and effective production. * Working knowledge of MS office suite applications. Must have high comfort level with computers. Prefer candidates with knowledge or experience with SAP. * Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required. * Requires occasional travel outside service area * Requires occasional operation of a motor vehicle; a valid Driver's License is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Preference given to 2-year college or trade school graduate. Physical Requirements * Normal power plant environment and/or out of doors work environment. (Including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unit work locations) * Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs, lifting and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
