Position Summary

AutoZone's Full-Time Shift Supervisors assist the Store Manager with leading company initiatives and ensuring maximum productivity, training high performing AutoZoners in a safe environment, driving sales, controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures in accordance to AutoZone's expectation. Shift Supervisors exceeds customer's expectation by delivering a WOW! Customer shopping experience on assigned shifts by Living the Pledge every day.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists Store Manager with supervising, training and developing store personnel

  • Assumes responsibility for the store operation and commercial department in the Commercial Sales Manager and Store Manager's absence, on assigned shifts

  • Assists with management of the Commercial and Hub Departments, (as applicable), to ensure commercial accounts and stores are serviced and deliveries are made as promised

  • Delegates and ensures store merchandising tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Operates cash registers and follows established cash handling duties, including but not limited to deposits, petty cash and lane accountability

  • Ensures all company policies, and loss prevention procedures are followed

  • Utilizes ZNET to help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives

  • Maintains a safe working environment while ensuring AutoZoners are implementing those practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Monitors cash flow, inventory and security control

  • Maintains sales productivity, store appearance and merchandising standards

  • Conducts and reviews all opening and closing procedures

  • Manages emergency situations and conduct proper emergency procedures

  • Follows proper accident procedures

  • Provides feedback regarding AutoZoner performance to the store manager

  • Assists with monitoring and managing all activities related to Risk & Safety Management to maintain a safe work environment

  • Addresses customer concerns and resolves them with a goal of turning a complaint into a compliment

  • Processes returns and effectively manages inventory

  • Communicates AutoZoner issues and concerns to the Store Manager in a timely and confidential manner

  • Motivates AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service, enhance productivity level and market products to enhance sales and profits

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • ASE Certified preferred

  • Demonstrates high level of integrity

  • Excellent communication and decision making skills

  • Ability to drive customer service

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 We are looking for Compounding Team Manager, where you will maintain and improve the safety, quality, service, cost and culture on the night shift as well as provide leadership to finishing operations by supervising day-to-day production and performance of multiple direct reports. The position requires good communication skills with a diverse workforce and other members of the production leadership team, the ability to prioritize work, a sense of urgency to solve problems, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions to resolve any issues that prevent the company from meeting its goals and objectives. This role is located in Painesville Ohio, reporting to the Coating Operations Manager - Performance Tapes. Being skilled as a dynamic team player with Lean Manufacturing experience and the ability to rally and empower people will be strongly preferred. This role will work on a 12 hour program from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am. Essential Duties: 1. Manage Employee Performance And Development * Conduct performance reviews with employees and set development and training plans * Documenting and conducting disciplinary action * Ensure employees have necessary skills and schedule training as necessary to fill gaps * Establish succession plans for key roles within the shift * Monitor attendance records, vacation schedules and payroll * Ensure consistent application of policies * Participate in employee selection and hiring 2. Drive Continuous Improvement * Identify cost reduction opportunities * Communicate and implement Corrective Actions resulting from customer complaints and internally identified opportunities * Identify opportunities to optimize allocation of resources and labor * Communicate cross functionally and with other shifts to maintain optimum safety, productivity and quality * Lead Kaizen events and support 5S initiatives * As member of the manufacturing leadership team: develop, track and improve department metrics * Coordinate and manage Compounding supplies through ordering and inventory management 3. Provide Direction During The Shift * Minimum of 50% of the shift spent on the manufacturing floor * Development and deployment of the Compounding schedule * Coordinate activities of the unloading of raw materials * Assign operators to machines, handle break schedule * Resolve conflicts and issues that arise to include but not limited to production, staffing, and quality; allocate resources as necessary * Oversee and direct the troubleshooting of a variety of technical problems with assistance from tooling, maintenance, distribution and other functional areas as needed * Provide leadership in times of emergency, evacuation or employee injuries Required: * 6+ years experience in a manufacturing environment. * Able to work 12 hour program and on weekends. * Have the ability to work with people to achieve objectives and build a teamwork atmosphere. * Ability to troubleshoot and effectively problem-solve issues and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems * Demonstrated leadership skills: ability to achieve operational results through delegation and teamwork while gaining / maintaining respect from all levels of the organization. * Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills. Preferred: * Bachelor Degree * Experience supervising in a manufacturing operation including safety, performance management, coaching, training and development, timekeeping/payroll issues and mentoring, etc. * Experience within manufacturing, ISO 9000, TS 16949, Lean or Six Sigma * Demonstrated record of successfully implementing and sustaining improvement actions on the production floor. * Demonstrated effective project management skills.
