Position: Shift Mechanical Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Shift: Rotating

Pay: $23/hour+ plus a shift differential

Summary

Under the direction of the Mechanical Supervisor and will work on a rotating shift. This person is expected to work with little or no supervision while performing maintenance on equipment necessary for the manufacturing of cement.

What you'll be contributing:

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

• This position assists with a wide variety of maintenance and repair duties throughout the cement plant while learning the skills required to perform these tasks

• Performs other duties and special projects as required

• Inspect plant process machinery and provide recommendations for repair

• Install & repair plant process machinery.

• Operate equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, and other related mobile equipment

• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• High school graduation or equivalent is required

• Trade school training is preferred

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with heavy equipment

• Minimum of 6 months working at a cement plant or similar operation, performing mechanical maintenance

• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

• Willingness to learn, training will be provided

• Experience in cement plant highly referred

• Experience working in heavy industry preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working on industrial compressors required, including Quincy, Kaishan, Elgi, AtlasQuincy, Kaishan, Elgi, Atlas

• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pnuematic and electrical schematics required

• Must be willing and able to train other maintenance technicians

• Must be self-motivated and be efficient with time to repair equipment while maintaining safety as the highest priority. Keep all break times to allocated amount and report to distribution in a timely manner after morning meetings and breaks.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
